Disclaimers.
Three things worth knowing before you rely on Awakenn for anything that matters — your alarm, your health, or your wellbeing.
These disclaimers are incorporated into the Terms of Use and rank as set out in its order-of-precedence clause, which does not narrow any disclaimer surfaced to you in the App (Terms §2(c)). They may also be shown in-app during onboarding, on the alarm-setup screen, and in the player.
1. Alarm reliability — do not rely on Awakenn as your only alarm
Awakenn’s alarm and notification features are provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not warrant or guarantee that any alarm, notification, or audio will activate, sound, or wake you at any time, or at all.
Whether an alarm fires is affected by factors outside our control, including (without limitation):
- your device’s notification settings, Do Not Disturb, and Focus modes;
- battery level, Low Power Mode, or the device being off;
- your operating-system version and its handling of background apps and notifications;
- background-app-refresh settings and other installed apps;
- volume, silent mode, and connected audio devices; and
- network connectivity.
You acknowledge and accept these risks. You agree that you will not rely on Awakenn as your sole or critical means of waking, and that you will set and maintain an independent backup alarm for any important, time-sensitive, or safety-critical need — for example work, travel, examinations, medication, childcare, or any other obligation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or harm of any kind arising from an alarm or notification failing to sound or function as expected. Nothing in this acknowledgment excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
2. No reliance
The App and its content are provided for general personal use. While we aim for accuracy and reliability, you should not rely on the App as your only source for any decision that matters to your health, safety, finances, schedule, or wellbeing. Any reliance you place on the App is at your own risk.
3. Not medical, psychological, or professional pastoral advice
Awakenn’s devotions, meditations, prayers, scripture readings, audio, and related material (the “Content”) are provided for spiritual enrichment, personal inspiration, and general well-being only.
THE CONTENT IS NOT, AND MUST NOT BE TREATED AS, MEDICAL ADVICE, PSYCHOLOGICAL OR MENTAL-HEALTH ADVICE OR THERAPY, PASTORAL OR PROFESSIONAL THEOLOGICAL COUNSELLING, OR ANY OTHER LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.
- We are not a licensed medical, mental-health, or counselling provider, and using the App does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, clergy–parishioner, or other professional relationship.
- If you have or suspect a medical, psychological, or mental-health condition, consult a qualified professional. Do not disregard or delay professional advice because of anything in the App.
4. In an emergency
If you are in crisis or believe you or someone else may be in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately — for example 999 in Singapore, 911 in the United States, 112 in the EU and UK. You can also reach a crisis line such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) in the United States, or the equivalent in your country.
5. No guaranteed outcomes
Spiritual practice, reflection, and devotional content may support general well-being, but we make no promise that using the App will produce any particular spiritual, mental, emotional, or physical result. Individual experiences vary.
